 We use air movers (or blowers) that are low to the floor. These aerosolize the moisture in structural materials when properly and strategically placed. We also added varying sizes of commercial dehumidifiers that take the aerosolized moisture out of the air to bring down humidity to thoroughly dry the home. There are also many specialized pieces of equipment used to dry cabinets, walls cavities, walls, and wood floors. Our machines are made to dry quickly…within days rather than weeks. 

 House fans do not create enough air flow to dry the carpets properly. Further, any fans will move moisture into the air creating a high humidity. This means that dehumidifiers are needed to properly dry the home entirely. 

 It is not recommended. If your carpet is that wet that it must be extracted, your walls are probably wet too. In addition, the wet carpet will have wet pad that must be removed. 

 Typically, the water damage or flood damage part of the claim can be submitted and paid with no deductible deduction if there is a large amount of repair work. This means that the deductible will be applied to the repair invoice. This is where you can reasonably save some deductible funds by partially doing your own work. For example, if you are able to paint the rooms required, you can save that portion of the repair payment. 

 Typically, yes; but it depends on your policy. From the beginning of the loss take pictures of the loss, the damaged items, and the potentially damaged items. This will enable you to properly document. Water damage is stressful and your memory might not serve you well when it is time to file a water damage property claim. 

 In most cases, insurance does cover the water damage claim.
